Onam has recently gained fame across the globe. Irrespective of the culture, everyone has embraced this festival to their hearts. Everyone gets excited when it comes to celebrating Onam. While in Kerala, Onam is celebrated like this- Ladies wear their traditional white set sarees and men wear minds(white lungi) . The ambience is fun filled. The most attractive thing about this festival is the food. Onam sadhya is served with more than 50 dishes on a banana leaf. Other activities include boat races, lemon spoon races etc .
Second most famous festival of Kerala is the Thrissur pooram. This one is held in Trissur, a district of Kerala. It’s a hindu festival. It’s held on a huge temple ground with hundreds of thousands of people getting together on this day . The main attraction are the elephants. Elephants are decorated with gold and flowers and made to walk in a line. They are made to stand around the temple in a circle with a bunch of band musicians playing in the background. Clothes and food stalls are set up . The ambience is energetic and vibrant.
