Tandoori Chicken or Tandoori Pizza

If there’s one thing all Indian people can agree on, it’s that tandoori chicken is the best. You can find it at almost any restaurant or street stall in India, and it’s also extremely popular in the U.S. There are two types of tandoori chicken – dry and marinated. Dry tandoori chicken is barbecued in a clay oven called a tandoor, which gives it its signature smoky, rich taste.

While it’s commonly steamed, it can also be pan-seared, baked, or grilled. Marinated tandoori chicken, also called karahi chicken, is made by marinating the chicken in yoghurt, spices, and herbs overnight before barbecuing it. It’s milder than dry tandoori chicken, and the yoghurt gives it a tangy flavour. You can pair it with roti, naan, or pizza.

Butter Chicken

Butter chicken is one of the most popular Indian dishes in the world, and it’s also extremely popular in the U.S. This sweet and savoury dish is usually made with butter chicken sauce, which is a tomato-based gravy. You can also find it with butter chicken masala, which is a mix of tomato, ginger, garlic, and other spices.

Butter chicken is traditionally served with naan, but it can also go well with bhatura, roti, or phulka roti. There’s also a butter chicken sub variation. It’s made with turkey, mozzarella, and mayo, which gives it a unique flavour. You can also make it with chicken.

Bhindi Masala Fried Okra

Bhindi is a type of okra that is extremely popular in India and also in the U.S. It’s usually fried in a spicy, garlicky masala, with some adding chopped tomatoes to give it a tomato flavour. You can find a variety of bhindi masala recipes online, but you can also make them at home.

For example, you can add onions, garlic, ginger, coriander, cumin, and salt to the okra while it’s frying. You can also eat it with roti, naan, or pulao. Bhindi is also commonly made into a delicious curry. To make it, raw okra is first chopped and then cooked with spices like turmeric, chilli, cumin, coriander, and salt. You can serve this curry with roti, naan, pulao, paratha, or even plain rice.

Murg Khan Deal Fry Bread

Murg khan is a savoury bread that is popular in India and the U.S. It’s almost like a bread pizza, where you spread murg khan curry on bread, add a slice of tomato, and then add some more curry on top of that. Other ingredients you can add to this curry include potatoes, green peas, or even corn.

You can also add onions, ginger, garlic, and other spices to make it more flavourful. You can also eat murg khan with roti, naan, or pani puri. It’s also great with a side of tandoori chicken.

Lamb Rogan Josh

In India, lamb is almost always served with raitha or gravy, and you can find many similar gourmet dishes in the U.S. This one is made with lamb shanks and is spiced with onion, ginger, garlic, tomatoes, and herbs. You can make raitha with tomatoes, onion, ginger, garlic, masala, mustard, and salt.

You can also season the gravy with Kashmiri red chilli powder, cumin, coriander, and other spices to give it a unique flavour. You can also serve raitha with roti, naan, pita bread, pulao, batura, or even plain rice.
