Now that the government has announced a further lockdown till May 3rd, 2020, you are either stuck safe and sound with your family at your home or in a different city alone. Either way, you are definitely deprived of house help, and ordering food is not the best thing to do when a virus as contagious as COVID is on the go.
Passing time in these circumstances is difficult. We all have sudden bouts of productivity drive when we start reading, writing, and working but then comes the lazy halt where the procrastination and too much time sucks you dry of all the motivation.
To please your belly and feel a little better when you are not being very productive, try these 10 easy to make insta-food recipes to keep going.
1. Sweet dish out of egg and bread.
Take a bowl and pour some milk into it, then add sugar as per taste and break two eggs in it. Beat the mixture well till the sugar dissolves. Take a slice of white bread and dip it inside the mixture for few seconds.
Heat butter (butter is always better) in a pan and fry the bread. If it suits your taste, you can always have it for breakfast. To make it extra “bougie” top it off with some maple syrup or chocolate sypus and don’t forget to dust some trusty old powdered sugar.
2. Experimental Maggi
Our generation loves Maggi, we cannot deny that. Remember when Maggi was banned for almost a year? That was when we realized that we should not take the things we love for granted. To make your Maggi taste different, sauté some onions and tomatoes with green chilies in oil till it almost becomes paste-like.
Add capsicum to the pan and stir till it is soft. Cook Maggi in a different pot, then add your Maggi to the pan and cook for a few minutes. Your experimental desi Maggi is ready.
3. Soupy Maggi
If you have not tried this, you are missing out on something really classy and delicious. Get hold of Manchow soup or Ching’s noodle soup, the ones that you pour in boiling water and stir for a few seconds and that is all.
Make Maggi till it soaks up all the water and is dried and sticky. Scramble eggs in butter. Now add your Maggi to the bowl of soup and then add scrambled eggs on top for a really amazing dish.
4. Nothing like Brownies
If you are not up for baking or wish to not do it due to your never-ending laziness, take Brittania cakes, preferably chocolate, and make dough out of them with butter. And if you don’t want an arm workout then melt the butter before adding it to the mushed cake to make the knilding process a lot easier.
Make small balls and dip them in molten chocolate. Make sure the chocolate is not too thin inconsistency. Freeze the balls when they’ve cooled and here you have your chocolate balls, extremely delicious.
5. Dhokla

7. Uttapam
Another South Indian food that is really easy to make only if you have an instant mix of Uttapam(again). You have to beat it in curd and make a paste out of it. Add some water and chopped veggies.

8. White Sauce Pasta
White sauce pasta with chicken tastes too good for a dish that is as easy and simple to make. Make the sauce first by heating butter in a pan and add white flour and cook the mixture well. Pour milk little by little for desired consistency and cook till the sauce is ready.
Then add seasonings, like cheese, black pepper, etc. Lastly, add boiled pasta. If you have oregano in store (which you picked from domino’s) at your place then now is the perfect time to use them.
9. Dalgona coffee
Well now that it is such a trend, you too surely wish to savor the aroma of cold coffee in this disturbing summer. Beat coffee with sugar and water till it forms a paste.
